In 1998 I attended a Creative Memories Scrapbook "Party", and was instantly hooked on my latest passionate hobby.  I have engaged in some type of craft as a hobby since 1975....each one lasting from 6 months to 2 years before I put it down, never to pick it up again.  Since that first exposure in 1998, however, Scrapbooking has endured as my favorite hobby.  I think I love it so much because it truly is a gift to my family that will last for the ages.  You can only do/own/give away so many needlepoint pillows, cross-stitch pictures, painted tablecloths, necklaces, brooches, ceramic bowls, etc before you (and all of your friends and relatives!) reach the saturation point.   Scrapbooking tells the stories of our lives and preserves them for all to come.  It never wears out and it is never too much.

Over the years, my daughter and several good friends have pointed out that I am just a bit Obsessive/Compulsive, so it is no surprise that I compulsively purchase scrapbook paper and embellishments.  I have been known to sit for 16 hours straight working on scrapbook layouts.  I jump at the chance to sit for 2 or 3 days at a time in my robe and slippers at my Scrapbooking Table.

I make scrapbook pages of everything from recipes to everyday occurrences (like the first snow or children rolling down a hill).  I have specialty albums for almost every occasion: weddings, Andi's motorcycle trips, Shawn's firefighting career, and family heirloom pictures, to name a few. Over the years I created alphabet scrapbooks for my granddaughters and a variety of albums for friends marking some of their most precious moments.

I now also have become hooked on Digital Photography, and try never to be caught without my camera handy.
