Troubleshooting Telephone Problems

1. If you are not able to use the telephone check the following:
a. Make sure the telephone has dial tone.
1. If there is no dial tone, disconnect the patch cord and power cord to the phone for about 1 minute then reconnect the cords. The telephone will display 'Rebooting system' and 'Downloading', depending on if needs to download software it could take a few seconds to a couple of minutes. The date, time and extension number will appear and the telephone is ready to be used.
b. If you did the steps above and the telephone does not have the date, time and extension displayed, write down the message and/or doesn't not work, E-mail it to your campus Technology Facilitator.
