Emily Dickinson Robert Frost

In Spanish class, students need the following:

     1.  A spiral notebook in which to keep vocabulary and notes.  A good idea is to get a large one that has tear-out paper as well as pockets.  A small loose-leaf notebook is acceptable as well, but it would need to have some type of dividers.

     2.  Pen and paper every day in class.

     3.  Once we get our textbooks, students will need these each day as well.

I normally post calendars of upcoming assignments for each of my classes.  However, Spanish class is different because each class moves at a different pace.  Students will know about tests and major assignments several days in advance, and we will practice for tests in class.  Some assignments will be:

1st 6 weeks:  memorizing and reciting the alphabet, the numbers from 1-20, 20-100 (by 10s), and 100-1000 (by 100s), the days of the week, and the months of the year.

1st or 2nd 6 weeks:  memorize and use the pronunciation rules on a written test.

3rd 6 weeks:  memorize and either recite or sing Christmas songs in Spanish.

There will be at least 3 tests each six weeks as well as 8 daily grades.  Test grades count 60% and daily grades count 40% of the six weeks average, as school board policy demands.
