Instructions for powerpoint

Criteria Research Project

You will be assigned a criterion to research.  You will create a powerpoint presentation regarding your criterion.  You must include the following information in your presentation:

1.      Name of your criterion

2.     Definition and explanation of what your criterion means.

3.     An illustration or example of your criterion.

4.     Three quotes about your criterion.

5.     Find a philosopher that supports your criterion.

6.     Give background information on your philosopher.

a.     When they were born and where they lived.

b.     What kind of society did they live in?

c.      Educational background

d.     Tell what your philosopher says about your criterion.

e.     What is your opinion of your philosopher’s reasoning on your criterion and in general?

f.       What other theories did your philosopher support?

7.     Choose 4-5 values that your criterion supports, defines or achieves.  State the value and then explain how the criterion supports it.

8.     Give the potential arguments against your criterion. 

9.     Provide a complete bibliography of your sources.  You must have at least FIVE different sources for this project.

10.  You will present the project to the class and must be able to fully explain your criterion so they understand.  You will be the teacher and expert on your criterion.

11.  You will be expected to take notes during the presentation of everyone’s criteria and you will be quizzed on the information.
