Reading-
Using word attack skills. Identifying the
setting, plot, characters, characters feelings, main idea, sequence,
vocabulary, drawing conclusions, inference skills, summary and using
graphic organizers.
|
|
|
Math- We will review adding, subtraction, and place value.
We will learn about fractions, symmetry, congruent figures,
geometric shapes, multiplication facts, multiplication using
pictures, division using pictures and 2-step problem solving.
|
|
|
Spelling- We will have spelling
words each week. I will hand out a spelling list at the
beginning of the week. We will have a spelling test on Friday.
|
|
|
Language Arts- We will identify
the four types of sentences. We will learn about nouns,
pronouns, verbs, and adjectives. We will learn how to write
good paragraphs and how to use those paragraphs to write a story.
|
|
|
Science- We
will learn about life science(plants and animals) landforms, planets
and matter.
|
|
|
Social Studies- We will learn about
inventors, landforms, economics, folktales, legends, communities,
and how historical figures influence communities.
|
|
|
Homework- Students have homework every
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday night. The students gets one
homework pass per six weeks. After they use their pass, they
will serve a detention every time they do not have their homework.
The students are also expected to read 15-30 minutes a night to help improve with fluency and word attack. Spelling test every Friday.
